Unified two enterprise healthcare analytics platforms into a scalable decision-support experience that simplified clinical reporting and established a foundation for future data products.

Executive Summary

challenge
The project required more than combining two products. It required creating a consistent experience that balanced: • multiple user roles • complex healthcare metrics • technical limitations • regulatory expectations • scalability without increasing cognitive load. Every design decision needed to satisfy both user needs and engineering realities.
strategic decision
Rather than treating data visualization as an isolated design exercise, I developed a framework centered on how healthcare organizations interpret and act on operational data. Working closely with users, product stakeholders, and engineering, I simplified navigation, restructured information hierarchy, and established reusable visualization patterns that respected ApexCharts.js limitations while significantly improving clarity. The resulting product emphasized decision support over data presentation, enabling users to move naturally between high-level organizational performance and detailed operational metrics without losing context. This framework became the foundation for future analytics initiatives across the PHI ecosystem.
